Yeshi Silvano Namkhai, a student of great master Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, founder of the International Dzogchen Community and one of the most important living Masters of Dzogchen, was born in Tivoli (Rome), in 1970.
At a very early age he was recognized by His Holiness Sakya Trinzin as the reincarnation of Khyentse Rinpoche Chökyi Wangchug, important Dzogchen Master, maternal uncle of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu who died during the Chinese occupation of Eastern Tibet.
Yeshi Namkhai is married and has a son and a daughter. He has worked successfully as a manager and business consultant. Since 1998 he has been supporting the Dzogchen Community, offering the professional skills he has acquired in this field. As Director of the International Gakyil,Yeshi Namkhai has revised the organizational structure according to principles of collaboration between vajra brothers and sisters, thereby obtaining a considerable growth of the Community itself.
In August 2007 he went to Tibet, inivited by the students of Khyentse Rinpoche Chökyi Wangchug, where he had clear and important visions. When he returned to Italy he stopped work, understanding that his job is to keep the Teaching and the Community alive for the benefit of beings and for future generations. In 2008 he began to give lectures and Teachings in various countries of the world: Russia, Ukraine, United States, Rumania, Italy, Mexico and Venezuela.
